Abstract.The article presents the results of an empirical study of teacher’s professional-personal readiness as socio-psychological resource in social adaptation development of children with Down syndrome. The actuality of the study is tied to the intensive development of the inclusive educational practice in the conditions of the Bulgarian school. The obtained data illustrate the increase of the professional and personal capacity of the teachers from the general education structures (kindergarten and elementary school) in terms of their active participation in the development of the socio-adaptive competence of the children in the considered category. The results are a kind of litmus for raising the social sensitivity of society as a whole.
