Absract. The article analyzes the new curricula in Bulgarian language for XI and XII grade as a starting point for summarizing the features of teaching Bulgarian language in the
respective classes of the second stage of high school in Bulgarian high school. The teaching of Bulgarian language in XI and XII grade is interpreted as a system with three main types of characteristics - targeted, informational and technological. It is concluded that the educational philosophy set in the programs can help outline a methodological model of teaching Bulgarian language that meets the needs of modern socio-cultural and educational context - language learning with a clear communicative orientation.
