adoption of media education in our schools as well as at the content and pedagogy of media education curriculum as it might help students become more media literate people and better citizens who understand that media are constructed to convey ideas, information and news from someone else&#8217;s perspective; who can identify media techniques and their intended and actual effects; who are aware that the media benefit some people, but leave others out; who seek alternative sources of information and entertainment; who use the media for&nbsp;their own advantage and enjoyment; who know how to act, rather than being acted upon. Moreover, the media education contributes to developing the critical thinking skills that help young people navigate through traditional media; to helping prepare students for life in society, i.e. gain the knowledge, skills, abilities and competence to communicate, criticise, create, and care; to teaching students to be safe and responsible on-line; to involving students into conducting original research through doing media projects so that they can learn to effectively interview, observe and record individuals and groups while researching favourite TV programs, bands and celebrities. It is of importance that teachers exchange good practice, compare approaches used by other educationalists and identify which subject areas contained media education outcomes in the curricula and to determine what support is available to help teachers integrate media-related components into their lessons. In order to answer the challenges stemming from introducing media education into school curriculum and to promote socially responsible and self-directed learning we should introduce project work on media education into curriculum; develop awareness that media studies should be inquiry-centered, co-investigative rather than seeking to impose a specific set of values, egalitarian and dialogic.
