RESULTS OF A DIAGNOSTIC EXPERIMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nAbstract. <\/strong>The article presents the conclusions from a diagnostic experiment aimed at developing skills in working with cartoons in history classes in 6th grade. The result of one of the didactic tools &#8211; historical worksheet, reveal that students are well aware of the political history of Bulgaria during the 30s of the 20th century. They are able to express their attitude and position on historical problems, but they feel difficulties to justify a personal opinion expressed by recognizing and interpreting the information contained in images and symbols. The survey data also show the students\u2019 inability to offer options for solving cases. Student\u2019s experience difficulties in those work tasks with cartoons that require explanation of the causes and consequences of historical events, especially when comparing two or more visual sources.
