death\u201c<\/p>\n<p><strong>PERSPECTIVES ON THE INDIVIDUALISM&nbsp;OF PENCHO SLAVEYKOV<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>Abstract.<\/strong> This article focuses on the concept of individualism recurrently&nbsp;applied to the personality and work of Pencho Slaveykov. It discusses the ways&nbsp;in which the concept has been used from the beginning of the 20th&nbsp;century till the&nbsp;period between the two World Wars. A functional gap is identi\ufb01 ed between some&nbsp;early de\ufb01 nitions of individualism by Vladimir Vasilev and Spiridon Kazandzhiev,&nbsp;on one hand, and their later conceptualizations during the 1930s, on the other hand,&nbsp;which reconciliate and reconnect the author and the society. Pencho Slaveykov\u2019s&nbsp;vitalism is shown to be a widely disseminate critical narrative during the 30s.&nbsp;Vitalistic ideology plays however a crucial role already in the pioneering article by&nbsp;V. philologists)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Abstract.<\/strong> The object of analysis in this article is the state of teaching Bulgarian at&nbsp;secondary school. The answers to 15 questions asked by K. Issa in her book \u201eEast of&nbsp;Dragoman (15 questions about Bulgarian language)\u201c were used as starting point of&nbsp;the analysis. Selected answers to the question \u201eHow to teach Bulgarian language at&nbsp;school?\u201c are analyzed. The main thesis of the author is that many of the weaknesses&nbsp;in language education are due to insuf\ufb01 cient compliance with its speci\ufb01c functions&nbsp;and with the ways these functions are realized.
